Day 4 - A Song That Makes You Sad
There are certain songs that tend to jerk the emotions a little bit, some simply because of the instrumentals, some due to lyrics that may hit home a little bit.
Staind - Please
I feel like it’s a bit of an obvious choice, picking anything by this band, but the lyrics to this song were some of those that I could relate to at various points in my life. The words find meaning in times of...

WBC: The Good News and the Bad News
Over the past couple of months, the infamous breed of ignorant, gay-hating swine (more commonly known as the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, KS) have made more headlines than usual.
First off, they won a Supreme Court case against the family of deceased U.S. Marine Matthew Snyder, whose father was extremely unsettled and hurt by the WBC’s decision to protest his son’s funeral. The...

Movie Review: Black Swan
Ah yes, the artistically-revered, multi-award-winning movie finally makes its way to my blog in a review. We waited the extra 28 days for it to hit Redbox (damn you, movie companies) because while we were sure it would be a great movie, I just rarely take that chance and buy the DVD before seeing it.
So what did I think? Well, it’s no wonder it won so many awards. The acting was phenomenal....
Day 3 - A Song That Makes You Happy
Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames
I know what you’re thinking. Yeah, I know, they are one of the biggest one-trick-ponies in modern music, but for one, you have to admit they’re talented. The first time I heard this song was coming home from the mall, a few friends talked about how awesome they were so I had to buy the album. Bob and I put this on in the car and were...
Day 2 - Your Least Favorite Song
There are so many I could list here. And by the way, I do realize I’m supposed to do one day at a time. But trust me, there will be many a day I will need to skip this for more important things (i.e. work, other work, eating, sleeping, you know).
So here goes. Again, I will need to break this down into two categories.
Least favorite that still (for some reason) has a place in my iTunes Bon...
Day 1 - Your Favorite Song
It is definitely hard to pick one song that I could call my all-time favorite.
I have been through so many different stages of music taste, and my favorites from each still remain, although at this particular point in my life I have the most music at my disposal, creating even more options.
Let’s break it down this way.
Current Favorites (3 songs I cannot stop listening to for the past...
This looks fun

Breaking News
I noticed today that the guy I always see walking along the side of 571 that looks like the glass-eyed guy from Pirates of the Caribbean…
…grew a beard.
Our top story tonight: which is more pathetic, my social life or my attention span? Tune in at 10.
Street Names
I pass this street everyday going to and from work, and I think the same exact thought every time I see it. The street is called Bananier Rd.
My thoughts are this:
Grenadier = Someone who is good at throwing grenades at people
Bananier = Someone who is good at throwing bananas at people?
I'm a fucking moron...
So I was supposed to change my oil on Friday. But I put it off. Like three times, because I had work/needed more sleep/can’t change oil in the dark. So what do I do? I put the quarts of oil in my back seat.
And today I come to find a half a quart of 5W-20 soaked into the upholstery. And my car is 100 miles over its interval.
I had a perfectly good trunk, inches away, where I could have put...

Career Decision
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about the direction my career is heading, and I believe I’ve turned a corner in making a definitive decision of where I’d like it to go.
I have decided that I am going to go back to school for a Bachelor’s in nutrition/dietary science, then I’ll go for the state test to become an official dietitian and nutritionist. I have come to...

Movie Review: Limitless
An unlikely combination of Bradley Cooper and Robert Deniro yielded some interesting results in Limitless. For a movie of its title, to be honest, this movie really held itself back.
(SPOILER ALERT)
You have so broad a plot that you can virtually do anything with it. Guy takes pills, pills open up mind to eight times normal capacity, guy feels invincible, guy will do anything. And yet they kind...
don't get me started on what it means to be... →
I may not be gay, but I have friends and relatives that are. It disgusts me beyond all reasoning that they may have problems being with the person they may eventually love simply because the “Bible”, which by the way is not supposed to have any say in our legal proceedings but somehow does, says that they shouldn’t.
srslytoriawhy:
okay motherfuckers, let’s pretend the Bible...

CD Karma
I believe that I suffer from an infliction which could only be labeled CD Karma. Due to the high amount of music that I choose to simply download and burn to blank CDs is coming back to bite me in the ass on a regular basis. In exchange for this, my blank CDs will scratch over time, as they do, but will still work in my car stereo.
So they do still work…what’s the problem? The problem...
Diet Update: Day 32
It has been officially a month since I started dieting.
Starting weight: 242 lbs. Current weight: 223 lbs. (as of this morning)
Between my change in eating habits and supplementation, I have lost 19 lbs. and have another 13 to go. I also feel good about this; I have not been torturing myself to eat healthy, and it should promote good habits for the future.
Softball season begins on April 20, so...

So, yesterday I read...
…that Rutgers University paid Snooki $32,000 to speak about…well…whatever it is that she’s famous for? Which, last time I checked, is nothing?
By comparison, working two jobs, I made less than $40,000 throughout all of 2010.
Congratulations guys, instead of shaping young minds for the sake of bright futures like a respected educational institution should be, you’ve...

Movie Review: Sucker Punch
First off, I will shamelessly admit that seeing Sucker Punch for the first time in IMAX very likely sugar-coated my initial thoughts of the film. You simply cannot beat five stories of screen, stadium seating, and 12,000 watts of digital surround sound…(wait, they should be paying me for this…)
Anyway, after talking about the movie with a few friends, some of which are self-proclaimed...
