Movie Review in under 40 words: Toy Story 3
I never expected it to be as good as the original two, but I suppose Disney Pixar never disappoints. It was fun, hilarious at times, and heartwarming to see all the characters, voices unchanged except one*; a brief flashback to childhood. *This explanation does not count toward my 40-word limit, because I have to explain that the only voice to change was Slinky, whose original actor died after...

Movie Review in under 40 words: She's Out of My...
Probably the biggest comedy surprise I’ve seen since Sex Drive. It boasted consistent crude humor throughout, and some parts that had me (figuratively) rolling on the floor. I’d go so far as to call it the next Superbad. See it.

I also just wanted to say...
…holy hell, the Orioles are fucking terrible this year. At 19-51 about three weeks shy of the All-Star break, I feel ashamed to have driven through Baltimore twice this week.

Movie Review in under 40 words: The A-Team
All I know about the original series is that Mr. T was in it. That being said, no one can replace Mr. T. But the movie was a lot of fun, action-packed and entertaining all the way through.

Movie Review in under 40 words: The Book of Eli
Nothing short of phenomenal, but can you expect any less from Denzel Washington? Great action scenes, a refreshing plot, and a surprise at the end make this post-apocalyptic film a must-see.

If I could have someone steal 50 cars for me,...
I saw a little bit of Gone in 60 Seconds recently, and granted, it’s one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time, but I just haven’t seen it all the way through in a long time. But it got me thinking: if I could have someone steal me 50 cars (in one night, perhaps?), what would they be? Combine that thought with boredom at work, and there you have it! My “Gone in 60...

Formula for a Modern Hip-Hop Song
We are all familiar with them. If you have ever been forced against your will to listen to Wired 96.5 in the central Jersey area, you’ve definitely been exposed to them. I’m talking, of course, about the endless garbage funneled through the airwaves of most radio stations, more commonly known as modern hip-hop. Now I know that there are a lot of people who love it, and probably despise...

FINALLY
So today, in an epic beatdown of the Rotties by the Warriors during a 60 Acres league game, I have finally achieved a sports feat that I have never done in all of my years of playing baseball/adult softball: I hit for the cycle tonight. With a home run to spare. The truth is, I probably have done it before. I just highly doubt it was close to legitimate. You’re reading the work of a guy...

Things That Have Recently Become Popular, But...
1. The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO The Pros - It’s awfully fast for how big it is, has a twin-turbo 365 horsepower V6 under the hood, looks pretty phenomenal, and drives like a luxury car. In the 1990s, the original SHO was known as the “poor man’s BMW”. The Cons - The “poor man’s BMW” is not exactly for poor men nowadays. With a sticker starting at $38,000,...

BRING ON INSTANT REPLAY
I am not going to go through the necessary explanation to describe what just happened in the MLB. All I can say is that Armando Galarraga deserved that perfect game, and he was unfortunately shot down by the primitive traditions of baseball as we know it. Jim Joyce will be criticized for this call for the rest of his career, and he knows it. It’s just sad that it can’t be taken back....

Never attempt to shoot pool the day after memorial...
If you have ever been to the Ballroom in Toms River, you know it looks pretty shady on the outside. But, you also know that after 6 PM, it’s the best place in the area to play pool; that is, if you don’t mind a little ear-wrenching latino music wailing from the jukebox from time to time (which means pretty much every time). Bottom line: it’s cheap, the people are generally nice...
