What's with all these people...dying?
As much as I understand that everyone has to pass eventually, I feel like every week now I’m hearing about another celebrity dying, or almost dying. And I suppose it seems like more famous people to me, due to the fact that I follow metal music pretty closely, but what the hell is going on out there? According to the best of my memory, in the last year or so, and even more so in the last...

Ye Olde "Woods Vs. Forest" Debate
Bob and I had this debate probably about 6 years ago on the bus to high school over whether a forest and woods were the same thing or not. I agreed that they were indeed the same. He believed otherwise. Bob is still wrong, just as he was 6 years ago. And now I’m doing this to spite him for the text he sent me while I was trying to fall asleep last night.

Working in Retail Sucks
There are only two things I can think of that are worse than working in retail. One is death; however, there is currently debate as to whether or not working in retail can be described as death, therefore falling into the same category. The other is managing in retail. That’s what I do for a living.
Now, as with any job, there are days when you just want to pull the hypothetical AK-47 out...
Movie review in under 40 words: Legion
Bad-ass angels with machine guns, Dennis Quaid’s annoying lead role, and a few eerie scenes keep you on edge throughout this action thriller. Great fight sequences keep you entertained and almost make you forget about the anticlimactic ending. Redbox it.
Westboro Baptist Church to protest Dio's funeral
…really?
Sadly, yes.
It has been announced by Fred Phelps, leader of the Westboro Baptist Church, A.K.A. pretty much the biggest douche bag in America, that their squad of gay-hating, funeral-trashing assholes will be picketing Ronnie James Dio’s memorial service in order to “remind you who worship that old serpent, Satan, that your time is very short.”
Well, if...
Movie review in under 40 words: Iron Man 2
Not sure what fans of the first movie were getting at, the sequel is just as entertaining. Over the top action, witty and sarcastic Stark one-liners, and downright bad-ass new characters make this a must-see. Stay after the ending credits.
Movie review in under 40 words: Avatar
Special effects were phenomenal, and despite one scene of cliche Hollywood drama, the plot was unique and it’s no wonder it grossed more than Titanic. Only James Cameron could top James Cameron. Long, but thoroughly entertaining, definitely worth seeing.
Album review in under 40 words: As I Lay Dying -...
With clean vocals on maybe half the tracks, this release is back to the roots for the band. Heavy and driving riffs overpower the album, but lacks the melodic qualities that made AILD a break from the metalcore norm.
Album review in under 40 words: Bullet for my...
Fast and fun album, but not as strong as their last release. “Your Betrayal”, “The Last Fight”, and “Breaking Out, Breaking Down” feel slightly refreshing. Don’t expect much in contrast to older stuff, but worth picking up.
Yay me!!!
Hello to all out there in the internet world! To keep this introduction simple, I’ll just explain the basics. My name is Kory, spelled with a K. I am the highly organized, highly stressed manager of a vitamin store. I am a drummer/lyricist/metal music expert, with no band currently. I am the clutch-hitting third baseman for the 60 Acres Warriors; call me the David Wright of adult...
